Beyond Profit: Unpacking the true Potential of Impact Investing?

We are thrilled to invite you to the second edition of The Impact Chat, an innovative forum designed to foster discussion, networking and collaborative growth. Join forward-thinking professionals across sectors to discuss impact entrepreneurship and its influence on business and society. Each session of The Impact Chat will feature insights from renowned industry experts on a pivotal impact topic, followed by an interactive discussion where you can share your experiences, insights, and questions.

Join session #2 of The Impact Chat to explore how impact investing question traditional metrics for success and aims to deliver tangible positive outcomes for the planet, people and profits at the same time. Afterwards the sessions you will be invited for further networking over drinks and snacks.

This session's focus: 

  • Is Impact Investing effective? We’ll examine whether impact investing is creating real change or merely playing into “greenwashing” narratives.
  • Financial Returns vs. Social Impact: Can investors achieve competitive returns while driving meaningful impact, or is there a trade-off?
  • Redefining Success: With no universal standards, how do we measure impact investing success? We’ll discuss how to assess outcomes through a broader lens than monetary KPIs alone.

Our guests:

Dr. Tim Dereymaeker is an associate partner at Porsche Consulting and is globally responsible for sustainability & ESG. With his team he supports sustainability projects in various sectors, including ESG strategies and reporting, decarbonization, ESG performance or climate technologies. Tim also works in the area of ​​Impact Measurement & Valuation.

Moritz Vohler is a Senior Investment Manager at better ventures. Previously, he was one of the first employees at Sono Motors, where he raised over 300 million euros for the company as an interim CFO. Moritz also gained investment experience in a private equity fund and founded his own start-up while still studying.

Caroline Grosch is a seasoned business development expert at the international law firm Reed Smith LLP with over 12 years of experience. In her role, she monitors regulatory ESG-related developments at EUlevel. She works with lawyers across practice groups and jurisdictions to drive progress for clients in the ESG space, including helping them to fulfil regulatory reporting obligations.

AlexanderHertel founded the Public Value Hub, anon-profit offering startup programs on sustainable and social entrepreneurship. Through his second company, Skutek Consulting, he helps organizations in planning, measuring, and reporting their ESG impact, aiming to enhance their positive contribution to society.
